The show “Laughter for the Wounded Warriors”, was created after my husband was air vacked from Iraq. He was placed in the new program, Community Based Warrior in Transition Unit, for medical healing and transition. The CBWTU is committed to Wounded Warrior care with a focus on medical treatment while the Soldier is at their home. CBWTU provides command and control and medical case management to Army Soldiers injured or ill as the result of their military service. This type of treatment allows them to be within their family support network and gives them the ability to receive treatment from local physicians and specialists. The CBTWU saved my husband’s life 3 times. So I am rather supportive! My husband is now a 1st Sgt. in this national program.
I have a 35 year career in producing shows and Stand-up Comedy, which led me to create “Laughter for the Wounded Warriors”. All comics are volunteers and our only agenda, is to make the soldiers laugh, and to inspire them. We produce shows that are closed to the public for the Wounded Warriors, and their families. We have only scheduled one public show this year due to popular demand. All donations and money raised goes towards the shows for the Wounded Warriors.
After all, laughter is the best medicine.
